I want to update my my fs computer with newer hardware however what i holding me back is the amount of time i have spent getting everything right with all the hardware and software and the addons etc,

i was wondering whether it would be possible to take a clone copy of my current setup and then when i get the new computer just clone the image back to the new hdd with the new computer, would that work?

I've never done this before so take my advice with a grain of salt.

There are couple things I'd keep in mind, a lot of your aircraft profiles are in your "My Documents" folder depending on where you chose to save it.

There's also some scattered throughout your directory, I think your scenery should be relatively safe though with just a simple copy and paste as your also copy and pasting the same scenery director.

Honestly though, if you just take a night and just reinstall everything, I think you'll save yourself a bit of time debugging what didn't paste over properly.

Here's a post on cloning software and hardware you can use. I'm sure there are cheaper software available if you google it.

thanks for the info, yes probably best option is to reinstall everything from scratch.
