Question for 777 knowledgable people

Featured Replies

This is not strictly a PMDG question but its probably the best place to ask and it does relate to PMDG's 777 kinda. Can anyone flies the 777 in real life or who has knowledge of it tell me if the Aivlasoft EFB program is similar to what you would get in a 777 with an EFB for the pilots. I know that PMDG don't model the EFB in the T7 and with very good reason so was wondering whether its a good substitute for what is in the real aircraft? If it isn't can someone tell me what functionality a real EFB gives to the pilots.

Not a real 777 pilot but as far as I know the standard EFB gives electronic access to all FCOMs, QRH, MEL, company manuals etc. It has a takeoff & landing performance calculator. A 'logbook' or tech log function, though not sure that's used by many airlines. It also has a facility to superimpose the aircraft ground position on a ground chart using GPS to monitor taxying navigation realtime. The cockpit door monitoring camera is also displayed on there. And of course, all the aerodrome/enroute charts. Lufthansa, I think, use a slightly different system in the cargo 777s and in the 747-8, so may have different stuff on there. I'm pretty sure the standard 777/747-8 EFB can be customised to the operator's requirements.
