  1. Can you PM me please.
  2. I bought the whole lot from Airline2Sim but I managed to get them all saved before the servers were closed. Let me know if you want me to share the ones you purchased with you. Normally I would frown upon this sort of thing but when people cannot access what they have paid for it isn't right.
  3. Wow, one of the most detailed, high fidelity aircraft addons is on the cusp of release (I am no fan of this early adopters thing at all but I suppose it's up to FSLabs what they want to do) and you have a look on here just to see people moaning. I'm staggered by the level of detail by watching A2S videos. If you think it too expensive or too detailed for you just don't buy it, simples! But there are some of us who love actually learning an aircraft properly! Now I just need to find time to fly my Q400, 737 NG, 777 and now this when its properly released. (And there is a 747 on the horizon as well, help not enough hours in the day!!)
  4. Indeed I remember RR's comments regarding P3D V3 when it came out saying that 64 bit is not the be all and end all people believe it is. In fact it could make some developers extremely lazy and not optimise their products. RR said a while back that when they are developing a product like the 747 v3 once they have the core functionality they want in the sim they will then spend some time optimising it. In fact I seem to remember as a result of the development advances of the 747 V3 they were able to optimise the 777 even more. I am very very keen to see what masterpiece of a 747 will be like. If only every other developer put as much effort into optimising their products as PMDG do then people would have no reason to whinge about VAS.
  5. So you want to force the ESP community to Xplane? What about the people that have spent loads of money on ESP based products? People will convert to Xplane as and when they want to, if they want to. Very much looking forward to this new 747 for P3D. If and when a 64 bit version of P3D comes out that could kill Xplane.
  6. You see I find it curious how people say boring to a modern airliner. Makes me wonder how realistically people actually want to fly their aircraft in the sim. Modern airliners like the 787 & 777 are far easier to fly realistically single pilot in the sim (even though it would be technically illegal in the RW). I've tried to fly the older less automated aircraft realistically and the workload is just too high to do it single pilot. With the 777 it's even possible with switch panels and LINDA to hand fly and do all your flows and checklists properly.
  7. I certainly don't think a 787 would be boring at all. Flying the 777 by the book is certainly a high workload during takeoff and approach. Considering the 767 will mostly be retired in a year or two I would rather they concentrate on current aircraft.
  8. I know there was a thread a while ago about a PMDG 787 but the real question about whether or not one is likely was never really answered. I know that a fully functional EFB that comes with the 787 in the world as standard is a none starter, but is PMDG able and willing to make a 787 in the future? I know that another developer is currently in the process of making one but we know that will be "reduced complexity", so would really like to know if a PMDG standard one is likely in the future? I've looked at many YouTube videos on the 787 and most of the advances in aircraft design don't actually apply to the sim, and it looks like this bird is right up your alley so to speak.
  9. Well IXEG prioritised rain drops over fundamental systems like TCAS! In a PMDG aircraft all the systems work exactly how they should. I know what is a bigger priority for me and it certainly isn't rain drops!
  10. Will the 747 V3 feature an Ipad CDU connection feature so you can program the CDU on an Ipad?
  11. The whole 'Slave of magenta' thing. Modern airliners are designed to be flown by the auto flight systems. The DC-6 is from a period before that but it does not make people who use the automation any worse virtual pilots.
  12. Sorry but which modern airliner is designed to be hand flown? The T7 is trim for airspeed not pitch with the FBW system. I am looking forward to the DC-6 but I believe it still has an autopilot albeit a rudimentary one.
  13. It's not really the right section TBH no but until PMDG release the upcoming DC-6 then all I use X-plane for is to fly helicopters. And at that height above the ground you really want some decent scenery. I'm sure when I'm flying the DC-6, and I use flying in the loosest possible sense of the word (more like attempting not to crash it!), I'm sure I won't care about scenery except airport scenery. The one big advantage that the X-Plane community is at pains stress is the availability of freeware scenery. But what is the point of all that if the people you are trying to attract from ESP platform can't install it because they don't understand the file structure and don't have hours of free time to start learning it.
  14. Marius, thank you for the link to that application. BUT your post is exactly the same tone as I've had before from the Xplane community before which really really bugs me. I've spent a lot of time trying to understand the structure of Xplane scenery, with lots of time spent downloading enormous files, to then boot up Xplane and find that it crashes because a file is missing. You really need to understand that Xplane is not intuitive at all! I've read that page on the Aerosoft forums before. Was it any use in helping me install World2Xplane, no because W2XP assumes that everyone already knows exactly which files and folders to download and where to put them. Not helpful to people who don't understand to start with! And that Ortho4XP thing, what is going on with that? Just a load of files and folders with no clear instructions. I don't want to spend hours trying to structure my scenery folders correctly, just want an installer that does it all for you, which is incidentally exactly what Aerosoft EGLL for Xplane does.
  15. Jimmy, thanks for your comments but the posted link from xplane 123 above highlight my issues perfectly. With P3D my Orbx scenery just installs perfectly because the installer does it all. With airport scenery I just have to make sure the scenery library is in the right order which is really easy. Those links above for World2Xplane, Meshes and Ortho4XP (whatever that is!) just link to a series of downloads with no explanation of how to install. One of the downloads for the World2Xplane for Europe has installation instructions of basically 'delete all old files in world2xplane europe and replace with new ones', well what if you have no clue how to install them in the first place!!! And people wonder why Xplane has never taken off as much as the Xplane community wants it to?
  16. I tried to install World2Xplane scenery into my Xplane. Found it so difficult to do I just gave up. Unless you understand how Xplane scenery works installing anything but the meshes and airports is terrible. Some airport scenery requires up to seven different libraries to be downloaded to not get an error.
  17. It's interesting getting people's views on this. I wasn't going to get the DC-6 until I saw Kyle's YouTube video on it. I haven't bought anything for Xplane airliner wise for circa 2 years because everything is very expensive and not the complete product. And when you have products like PMDG's 777 & and the Q400 available for P3D V3 (only ever had 1 OOM in P3D V3) I always think why should I spend lots of money on mid level stuff for Xplane when I have those fantastic products on P3D? I must hasten to add I do have helicopters for Xplane which are a joy to fly. But I've got myself to a point where I want to learn aircraft in great detail and fly them realistically so the systems realism has to be there. Which is why I always come back to the NGX, T7 and Q400. Once the IXEG 737 is finished I will buy it.
  18. I have Xplane as well as P3D. I've had more Xplane CTD's than P3D OOM's (I've only ever OOM'd once with P3D V3). As far as I can see all Xplane has to offer is a 64 bit platform but for me P3D looks way better with the likes of Orbx etc installed. And now IXEG have released their 737, which isn't really a finished product, apart from PMDG's DC6 what else high fidelity is on the horizon? Time and time again people talk about Xplane being the future but after three years I just don't see that.
  19. Is that hope or expectation? Once PMDG release the 747 V2 and FSLabs release their A320 the fanfare over the IXEG 737 will die down. I doubt Xplane will ever be bigger than the ESP platform.
  20. Currently, A2A and Majestic. When the FSLabs release their A320 then I'm sure it will be to the same standard. One of the reasons I believe Xplane hasn't really "taken off" if you will excuse the pun is the fact the community is seemingly willing to pay high prices for addons that are very mediocre or basically beta products! Whereas the PMDG DC6 for Xplane is looking awesome and I'm seriously considering getting it even though it not really my thing. The 747 V2 is a day one purchase for me regardless of cost. And I'm really looking forward to seeing what the next project post the 747 will be. When I found out that I could load up the config files I've downloaded for each aircraft in the BA fleet so the sim has exactly the same kit installed as is in the real aircraft for each separate aircraft in the fleet I was just thinking, WOW now that's attention to detail.
  21. Just had to create a thread to detail why I believe any gripes with PMDG's prices compared to other developers should be taken with a pinch of salt. We pay for the phenomenal attention to detail that PMDG puts into its products. Today I realised why I always enjoy coming back to flying PMDG aircraft. I am part of British Airways Virtual or BAV as we are now called due to IP issues. As everyone knows BA have an extensive fleet of 777 and have a lot of variants within the fleet for different passenger demands for each destination around the globe. The PMDG 777 is probably the best aircraft on the simulation market but the ability to customise your 777 to accurately reflect the airline you are flying under is something I have only seen PMDG and a couple of other very high quality addon producers do. At BAV one of our members has produced a configuration file for every 777 in the BA fleet so all we have to do is load up our 777 at say Heathrow and then select the equipment options and load in the file for the aircraft we are flying. That will select all the various options that that particular aircraft has fitted in real life in the sim. That is just unbelievable attention to detail! There is only two other aircraft addons producers that go into as much detail as that. Please please PMDG never ever change! I am definitely someone who doesn't care about your pricing policies because the sheer attention to detail is worth every single penny/dime/cent (where ever you are in the world ). Anyway had to get that off my chest
  22. You could be waiting a while then. I mean the 747 V2 has been in development for a considerable time and that is for two platforms that PMDG knows well FSX & P3D. They have been developing the DC6 for a long time but knowing the attention to detail PMDG development guys, I'm not surprised especially considering X-Plane is a totally new platform for them. I have P3D myself and have the PMDG 737NGX and 777 for it and absolutely love them especially since V3 came out. I'm hoping once the DC6 is released PMDG might be able to give us a time frame for which they can port over their flagship products to X-Plane and hopefully that will be within this decade! And once PMDG do release for X-Plane we should see what the potential in the platform is.
  23. ETOPs isn't just about losing an engine guys, it's about how long an aircrafts fire suppression system can suppress a fire for. Aircraft with longer ETOPs will be fitted with multiple Squibs for suppressing fires.
  24. Looked back through some seven pages of threads and couldn't see anything that is why I created the new thread.
  25. At $228m? Wow I'm sure RR will be very pleased!
