Make buttons work

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I bet this sounds like a newb question, and I'm pretty sure it's impossible, but as the title states above, is there any way I can make buttons in specific aircraft, like the default aircraft, to work? The buttons that are there just for looks, is there anyway I can put purpose to them? The buttons don't have to move, but just like setting key commands in FSX, is there a way to set a button or a "click spot" that you want to use, and when you click on that button you can choose what you want it to do ie: set this button by the throttles to arm thrust reversers and set this button on the overhead to turn on the fuel pumps? I know it's the impossible, and will probably cost hundreds of dollars or payware programs. Was just hoping there was some coding I could do that would tell a certain button to do something. So that way all of those pretty buttons in the cockpit that are just eyecandy but don't do anything could actually serve a purpose. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Also, I own the wilco crj, and I've noticed that when I load in the aircraft, it takes a small amount of thrust to taxi. But after shutting down and starting the engines, it takes a lot of thrust to taxi and I think it's a weight issue. Is there a way to lessen the amount of fuel in the aircraft cfg? Because no matter how much fuel I put in or take out of the aircraft, it still acts like it is several lbs over gross weight. Probably a bug, but any ways thanks!

Sigh...........Never mind. I guess I will just have to spend $50 on fs design studios if I want to do that kind of stuff. Anyways, thanks for the help!

Anybody? I'd like a cheap or (preferably) free way to make those stupid buttons in the virtual cockpit that don't do anything to do something. Or something that could be done with your keyboard instead? (Not FSUIPC) Like in an aircraft where the fuel pump switches don't work, I could have something that whenever I click them they do work. I know it's impossible or expensive, but just seeing what's out there?

On behalf of the community I would like to apologize for the fact that nobody replied to your post in the 62 minutes that you expected a reply.

There is very little you can do to change a VC.

There is lots you can do with the 2D panel (if there is one) and the keyboard.

Have you looked at the keyboard settings in the sim to see if what you want to switch is available in the default options?

If what you want isn't there you have a bunch of options that aren't listed.

The docs that come with FSUIPC list them all.

Those docs come with FSUIPC whether you register it or not, so you should start there.

@N60JBravo Sorry haha! I'm a little impatient don't take anything by it I'm not in a hurry. Anyways, thank you for your response. I'm still saving up for FSUIPC but I will take a look at the docs. I wouldn't mind if it was 2D cockpit, i'm fine with that too. Just something. I'm a big CRJ fan and I have the wilco crj vol.1 would like to add the "arm reversers" and "arm spoilers" button to it, and maybe fuel pumps but I'm not sure if they're modeled. But I can definetely do 2D panels, all's I need is a program that allows you to edit them, and (hopefully) cheap or free. I'll keep looking. Thanks!

Notepad works.

How do you edit 2D panels with notepad? You mean I can use notepad to add switches to the panel? Or is it something in the aircraft cfg?
