Separate monitors

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have 3 monitors using AMD and CCC. I would like to use the center monitor as the flight screen with one, possibly two of the other monitors for charts, internet, or whatever. Does anyone know how I can do this as everything I try I get flight sim on all three?

Thanks

Angelo

Two computers!!  Its the way I made it work.

I have this kind of setup. The middle monitor is powered by one computer, my MAIN FSX computer. On each side of the MAIN middle monitor I have two smaller monitors. Another computer powers both of these secondary monitors, I extend the desktop over these two monitors. The second computer does not have to be that powerful. I have ASN, PFPX, Avliasoft EFB and Navigraph charts installed on the secondary computer.

I network the two computers together and share all the drives between the two. It can be a little tricky getting it setup but not that difficult. Once all setup I use the Main monitor for the FSX flight screen. One of the secondary monitors runs ASN, PFPX and I use it to view the Navigraph charts or internet. The other secondary monitor runs the EFB (electronic flight bag) as a moving map display.

I went over to the AMD forums to see if 3 independent monitors is even possible. Or if someone can point me in the direction of getting all 3 to look good in FSX.

There really should be no problem there.

Unless you set up the three as one Eyefinity monitor the default situation should be 3 independent monitors. You need to set them as "extended" desktop monitors rather than "duplicate" in the Windows screen resolution page.

Ahh ok and I have to run FSX in window mode. I was trying to make this happen running FSX in full screen mode, but only on one monitor.

Yes FSX will take over all screens when run in full screen mode.

Have a look in the AVSIM file library for "Pseudo Full Screen Autohotkey Script"

This works with the program Autohotkey to remove window boarders in FSX.

Not sure if it works well with multi monitors though.
