3. Thank you sir. I really wanted this plane to be better then Eaglesoft's Citation X, but even after 10 years no one has been able to match it on the corporate side.
4. Excellent, thank you. Is this how I enter Dp's and STAR's also? I could only selwct the default DP. Wouldn't allow mw to scroll through the list.
5. Hey fella's. First time user of the G1000. Watched tutorials on You Tube to get an understanding. The problem I am having now is the airport I am at is not showing up for the flight plans or am I able to scroll and select any kind of letters, codes, etc. The first space in the Airport box just flashes with a magenta ? next to it. Flight plan is loaded within FSX, just can pull it up on the G1000. Any help would be great. Thanks Angelo
6. First time Carenado buyer with the Phenom 300. Since the 1.1 update I am finding that my Artificial Horizon is not working near the destination. I am going to run another test flight to see exactly where, but as of now it works on takeoff and climb out, but does not work on descent, approach and landing. No bank angles, pitch angles, nothing. Just a straight and level indication. The second issue I am having involves the AP and the FLC. I've been flying another corporate jet that was released many years ago which was my benchmark for the 300's performance. Once about 10,000 ft., I turn on the AP and select NAV and FLC then set the speed dial to 280 KIAS. The nose lowers to about a 1,000 FPM climb until reaching 280, then the nose raises up to whatever VS is needed to maintain 280 KIAS. In the Phenom 300, instead of pitching over to 1000 FPM climb, it is lowering into a -4000 FPM descent until reaching the desired speed. Third issue is that I had M .700 set on the speed dial, but the speed it was holding was M .735 not pitching correctly to hold the speed I selected. Forth. I had FL280 set as my altitude. When reaching about 26,500, she started to descend at about -250 FPM and just stabilized at M. 735, -250 FPM descent never reaching FL280. One positive. This is so far the best plane I've flown on approach. Handles like a dream. Little touching on climb out, but on approach she is very stable. I am expecting close results using the same techniques as my other corporate jet I fly so I don't know if I need to be doing something different for the 300 or are these bugs you have also noticed?
7. Ahh ok and I have to run FSX in window mode. I was trying to make this happen running FSX in full screen mode, but only on one monitor.
8. I went over to the AMD forums to see if 3 independent monitors is even possible. Or if someone can point me in the direction of getting all 3 to look good in FSX.
9. Hello all, I have 3 monitors using AMD and CCC. I would like to use the center monitor as the flight screen with one, possibly two of the other monitors for charts, internet, or whatever. Does anyone know how I can do this as everything I try I get flight sim on all three? Thanks Angelo
10. How do I disable FS2Crew when I feel like flying without it? Right now I am trying to do some pattern work but each time I start to taxi my left engine quits. Is this a known FS2Crew issue when not using it or do I have PMDG issues instead? Angelo Corredino
11. OK, let's try this then. Ask Armen C how I turn off or down the loud noise that sounds like the air conditioner but don't know what it is because none of the sound controls take care of it. I like a quiet cockpit while at FL and the PMDG's sound folder does not supply this for me. Messing around I found that it is the PACKS that cause this loud hissing/fan noise so how do I quiet these down? Angelo
12. Looking around for some new engine sounds for the PMDG 737 NGX I came across one here in the AVSIM forums that was downloaded over 14,000 times (most downloaded that I've seen). The file name is sound_b_737-800.zip made by Aleksandar Ristovski. I made a backup of my sound folder then moved this folder in but now when I load up the plane I am hearing a loud rumble while sitting cold and dark on the ramp. I turned down the engine, cockpit and enviroment sounds down to 0 and it is still there. When I put back the original PMDG sound folder the sound goes away. Does anyone know how to stop this loud rumble with the sound b file? Angelo
13. I do have some BBJ repaints but i also have my Eaglesoft Citation X that is no where to be found in TOPCAT so its not reading anything from my hanger. Everyone talks so highly of TOPCAT but they only have a handful of planes with specs for them. Thought this program would be more developed.
14. BBJ2, sorry. Inside of the TOPCAT program they have this plane listed as one to choose so there has to be an aircraft file out there for it somewhere.
15. Inside of TOPCAT I see the specs for PMDG's 738 BBJ. Where do I find the aircraft.cfg for this airplane? Angelo Corredino
16. Well I deleted the FSUIPC.ini then mapped my flaps back to the FSX controls. Restarted FSX and all is working now. Thanks AJ.
17. Can someone please post a install this tutorial for dummy's? I downloaded Pete's latest FSUIPC version (the K one) but I don't know what to do with the .dll file inside the zip. Also I can't open the .dll file to insert PatchSIM1friction=Yes into it. Please help Thanks Angelo Corredino
18. Yes I calibrated my flaps through FSUIPC. I use REX. I used to fly the PMDG often when it first came out but haven't flown it in over a year. I just installed it but didn't notice any performance issues before. I use FS2Crew and just the other day bought Topcat. Angelo Corredino
19. I don't understand why this plane will not climb and is nose heavy. I just tried a flight with these specs. PMDG 737-700WL GW - 139.8 ZFW - 117.8 126 pax at 21, 275 lbs. Cargo - Front 5,736 lbs, Rear 7,053 lbs for a total of 12,789 lbs. Fuel - 22,000 lbs 92.9% Full load. Takeoff seems normal as I am rotating where I should but the climb out performance is horrible. N1 was 91.2% only climbing at 800 fpm at 186 kias. If I raised the nose at all my speed would drop quick. The flight director was actually in the brown below the horizon. Any help would be great. Thanks Angelo
20. Just recently when speaking set flaps 5 the co-pilot will set them to 5 but then repeat flaps up a billion times and raising the flaps. I think I have tracked the issue to having my Saitek mixure control setup for my flaps inside the FSUIPC joystick calibration. So now to help with my problem I have to manually move my flap lever with the voice command which pretty much is a waste of FS2crew at least for the flaps. Is there a fix for this? Angelo
21. This is interesting, right from TOPCAT's website. Fuel CalculationTOPCAT also does fuel estimates for it's aircraft types and a given departure/destination airport. These calculations are based on LRC (Long Range Cruise) at given weight. The values also include fuel to an alternate and 30 minutes final reserve. While these calculations are fine for most flights, TOPCAT was not designed to be a fuel planner. So manual adjustments might be required under certain circumstances (strong headwinds, long route, etc...) If you desire a "Free Program" to use for your 737 fuel programming I recommend this one instead: http://www.metacraft.com/737NGFP/ A long time ago I was using Cristi's recommendation but was landing with to much fuel. The virtual airline chief pilot I was flying for at the time recommended this one instead for the PMDG 737's and my numbers improved greatly. I have not used either of them with FSX and PMDG's 737NGX yet. Like I said Aerotexas is fine so that's what I've been using.
22. OK, let me try to explain this to you one last time. Lucas came here asking for a program to help him estimate fuel. I gave him a FREE website called Aerotexas which is not perfect but it has served me well over the years. You come on here and say "those fuel figures are waaaaaaaaaay off" without offering and explanation as to why. They are not waaaaaaaay off but actually pretty damn accurate with all the variables that go into fuel planning. Then you fall back on the fact that Aerotexas is telling you to load more fuel then your plane can so its garbage. For one it doesn't care how much fuel your plane can hold, it is only telling you how much you need to make that flight. You as the PIC needs to determine if your plane can make that flight or will you have to make a stop along the way. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? I use Aerotexas with multiple planes I fly and it has not failed me yet but you still come one here not helping anyone trying for whatever reason to make me look stupid and I really don't give a rats &@($* what you think, say or try to prove. If you don't like the figures Aerotexas gives you then don't use them but at least come here with something to help someone jackwagon! My name is Nugent, Ted Nugent.
23. Dude, what is your problem? Why don't you use some of your energy and help the thread in someway? You fly default planes around and I don't. Fill your plane up with however much fuel you want, turn the autopilot on and act like you're somebody. I don't care, I don't need to prove a thing to you. And if you're so special and know everything why don't you man up and buy a plane? Go pay 70 bucks and get the PMDG 737 series, then come back and talk. You get 4 planes for 70 bucks, that's 17.50 a plane. Other then the VRS FA/18 Super Hornet (which I also own) is the best plane you can buy for FSX. Do you even own FSX yet? Do you want to start comparing fuel burns with the VRS to the default FA/18 also? Maybe we can take an apple and an orange and compare those too.
24. I can't help with the default planes in FSX or FS9, I only fly payware and 46,000 lbs of capacity is a bit low according to Boeing's website on the 738NGX. I just gave the guy above an option to help estimate his fuel and I don't really care anymore what you do or how you do it. Aerotexas works for me and that's all I care about. Have a good day.
