July 17, 201510 yr A few weeks back we had some unusual solid IFR here in the Denver area, and a cold front extending south (west to east) across the midwest with some also usually bad weather fir summer-time. Liking good IFR/IMC practice, I opened XPX and got real weather downloaded. What I now do is use the "read file now" option of real-weather (not downloading new weather) and can go back and fly that solid IMC any time I want- it's really cool. But being the creative person that I am, and noticing that my KORD weather was marginal VFR (using the read-file-now option), I decided to edit my METAR.rwx file. I decreased the vis from 5sm to 2sm, and after running XPX the saved edit to METAR.rwx is still present (2sm). However, when running XPX at KORD, I'm still getting the old 5sm vis. I always thought that XPX read the contents of METAR.rwx to provide the wx. Is there another file where historical downloads are kept that I also need to edit? Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. July 20, 201510 yr I believe you have to disable the online download first. Also, make sure you EDIT all KORD entries in your file... It's been a loooong time since I last put my hands on XP10, even more the METAR.rwx file, but I recall there being a few entries, even if for different observation times, but I always edited them all, and it worked that way.
