Toronto Area Flight Simulators

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'll be heading to Toronto next month for a few weeks vacation. While there i'm planning to book some time in a full cockpit simulator. There are two i've been looking at:

Ufly, which models a 777-200

http://uflysimulator.ca

Threshold Aviation, which models a 737NG

http://www.thresholdaviation.com

Before i deicde which one to shell out CDN$150+ to, i'm trying to find opinions from anyone who may have used either one of these. It's a long shot, but has anyone here had an experience with them or know of any other options in the Toronto area?

I know the ufly cockpit was built by Flightdeck Solutions, which from what i've read about Mike's experienes in the cockpit builders forum is a plus. I'm not sure who built thresholds (althought it stands to reason it was the same group perhaps?)

If the two setups are of similar quality i'd probably choose the 737 just because i'm more familiar with it in P3D (thank you PMDG and FS2CREW!)

Thanks for any thoughts.

I spent an hour with the Ufly 777 and I found it very realistic. I didn't do very well because I was too fascinated by the 180° outside view so I'm going back in a month or so to try again.

I didn't consider Threshold Aviation because I don't have the 737 but I imagine the quality would be similar. If you want to have a serious flying experience, you should probably go with the one you are most familiar with, otherwise an hour can go by very quickly without you doing all that you want to do.

You could contact Threshold and find out if the simulator can realistically do the things which are important to you.
