July 28, 201510 yr Hey all! Ive been simming a while now. Got a new desktop so i reinstalled some of the addons on P3D. Everything has been working fine. I setup my Saitek Switch and Multi Panels and had trouble linking them up to A2A C172 so I downloaded and installed SPAD and changed a few settings in A2A C172 configurator. All of a sudden, everytime I click ok to start a flight, I crash to desktop??? WTH?! My appcrashviewer log is below. Hope someone can help! July 28, 201510 yr I setup my Saitek Switch and Multi Panels and had trouble linking them up to A2A C172 so I downloaded and installed SPAD and changed a few settings in A2A C172 configurator. All of a sudden, everytime I click ok to start a flight, I crash to desktop? Your crash report indicates Kernel32.dll is the faulting module. According to the AVSIM CTD Guide, this is likely caused by high settings. You can try moving your P3D.cfg over to a temporary folder and then restarting P3D. The config will be rebuilt with the default settings and NO tweaks (yeah!). Now see if the crashes continue. If so, it is not your config and you can move the one you moved to the temporary folder back over to replace the one that was rebuilt. If the crashes continue, try a different aircraft than the A2A C172 and see if this stops the crashes. If so, then there is a problem with the A2A C172 configuration. You will probably have to contact A2A and see if there is a fix. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! I'll give the default cfg trick a go tonight when I'm home from work. I tried uninstalling SPAD, (thought since it's still only a beta version it may be cocking something up) that's didn't work. I did try a different aircraft and that didn't seem to help either. Thanks Jim, I'll give it a shot tonight
July 29, 201510 yr Author After uninstalling A2A c172 and all the panel addons it's STILL crashing! Still getting the kernel32.dll problem. I think I'll uninstall everything and start again. Thanks anyway
July 29, 201510 yr I get the kernel32.dll error a lot especially when I'm shutting P3D or FSX down. Indicates to me my resources are down. Still have a lot of virtual address space but my resources are down. I don't recall getting the error during use of the sim. I like high settings (LOD_Radius 6.5 and Texture_Max_Load 4096 in FSX) and love to test my flight sim to see how far I can go before crashes start happening. I know that many of my great addons, like PMDG aircraft, ASN for weather, REX4 for some neat cloud textures/water, photoscenery, and the latest GEX/UTX for my non-photoscenery flying areas will only take up many more resources. But I'm aware of the problem and it does not bother me anymore. I accept the fact that I have to watch my settings and addons. I just try to keep my PC tuned, drivers updated, and prepare myself for possible CTD's or freezes. Unfortunately that's the game we play with this hobby. "Man has to know his limitations"..... I hope you can get your issues straightened out and you can enjoy your addons w/o too many more crashes. Hang in there! Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! August 3, 201510 yr Author OMG i figured it out, and i have absolutely no idea how it was this!!!! I have a small 15.6" AOC portable screen that works via USB 3.0. I had it in landscape orientation so i could use it to put my PFD, MFD, MCP on there when i was using PMDG 737, then i turned the whole screen on its side to use it as a radio stack for the C172. THAT WAS THE PROBLEM When i turned the screen back to landscape orientation it worked absolutely fine. My tip off was that i got a DInput8.dll error, i started looking at my graphics setup. Thank GOD, now back to simming I get the kernel32.dll error a lot especially when I'm shutting P3D or FSX down.
