Aircraft Exterior Lights / Airport Ground Lights

Featured Replies

Over the last couple of flights, I've noticed that the lights on the ground at airports (ie runway and taxiway lights) and the lights on the exterior of the aircraft (ie nav and strobes) have become "smaller" for want of a better word. What I mean is, now the lights appear as a very small bead, as opposed to the healthy glow the lights used to have. It makes it very difficult now during the day to tell if the lights are on.Thanks for any help.-Phil

The only thing I've done was to enable mip maps through Active Sky V active environment menu. Don't know if this had any efffect. I have also enabled the active envireonment part of ASV, which I haven't used up to this point.I might have to put this question to the AS team if this is the cause. Thanks alot for the info though. Got me on the right track hopefully!! Cheers-Phil

Active Environment is your trouble. Under the main OPTIONS menu of ASV, you will find the Active Environment settings on the R/H lower side. There is a box to disable random light select. If you don't have this checked, AE will change your lighs via the halo.bmp file. Open your AE tab in ASV and under Environment there is Runway Light Sete. Just load one you like and then check the random light box as above so it doesn't reset things on you.If you don't like the halo.bmp file from ASV AE then you can restore your old file by copying it out of the ASV Active Environment, FS_Texture_Backup folder and paste it into the main texture folder of FS.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
