Cookies/Login Issue (Firefox) (Issue Resolved)

(Problem solved - see edit below)

Good day,

I'm having an interesting issue with AVSIM and Firefox. After returning from vacation, I noticed I was logged off of the site. No worries - I just signed back in. BUT, following my signin, I was immediately presented with the following error message...

Interestingly, you might notice that I was successfully logged in, as my login appears in the upper-right corner. If I reload the forums, I am logged in (*as evidenced also by this posting!)

I can use the forums and AVSIM site normally during this browser session, but when the browser is closed, the same issue crops up again despite my instructions to keep my session alive.

I have cleared my browser's cache and cookies on the off chance there is some sort of ghost in the machine, but a problem remains. After clearing the cookies and attempting to log in, the site tells me I was successful, but doesn't refresh the page to a signed in state. If I reload the site manually, it will indicate I've signed in - but again, the sign in is not persistant - almost as if the cookies are being disregarded.

I tested this against Internet Explorer 11 but it seems to function just fine - making me think this is some sort of browser vs. website issue. Anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Problem Solved:

My shortcuts have been pointing to the original avsim.net addresses - but it seems like things are being redirected at some point during the login towards avsim.com.

Apparently Firefox doesn't appreciate this - I updated my shortcut link from (www.avsim.net/index) to (www.avsim.com/index) and all is functional again. The cookies and logins seem to be appropriately persistant.

Cheers,

-Greg

Well, the bookmarked links to AVSIM are supposed to automatically change to the new address.  I had the same problem with Firefox but not recently.

I just responded to your support inquiry and your issues are much different than what you state.  I hope I have fixed the issue for you.  As you can see I merged your multiple accounts.
