August 1, 200520 yr Simmers,I need your help. I recently re-installed FS9 plus patch 9.1, installed all of my add-ons, and I frequently get a CTD with the message "not enough physical memory, or hard drive space, please clean up your disk".I thought it was a landclass scenery with a texture folder or something like that. But no. Then I thought it was my drivers. I installed most recent drivers for XP (SP2). Then I checked for double afcad files. Also, nope. When I start FS9, I have a virtuale memory size of 619 Mb, but when I'm flying it runs to 1 Gig or more. Does anybody have a clue to where I can find the solution? Could it be my AI traffic (mostly MRAI) and the AI planes? Or could it be something else? Please help.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
August 1, 200520 yr Hi Jeroen, do you happen to have the 'All Roads of Europe' package? Do you fly a lot in coastal regions? If 'yes' 2x, perhaps go to flightxpress.de and look for a thread in the forum's 'software department' with 'AROE' and 'Speicherleck' in the title. There, Jobia (alias Joachim Buhre) -who also brought us the seasonal CTD fix- explains what's going on and how to fix it. Hope this helps, good luck en groetjes Jaap
August 2, 200520 yr I would really appreciate knowing this secret as I am having the same problem, except with US scenery. Is there an english version anywhere? ThanksDavid
August 2, 200520 yr Hi David, I'm sorry I don't quite understand your question. My answer to Jeroen was just an idea regarding a specific addon which causes a memory leak. Are you suspecting something similar with another addon? Btw, in thread mentioned in my previous post, Jobia also explains why an empty texture folder doesn't necessarily always cause a memory leak. But my knowledge is too limited to dare to explain. Case there's great interest, I could perhaps try to help translate or so. Good luck and kind regards Jaap
August 10, 200520 yr Jaap,Your reply showed me the way to solving a memory leak problem I had myself. I have 'Roads and Rivers of Europe' by Just Flight, which is
August 11, 200520 yr Hallo Jeroen,When did you get this message the first time? Though I've gig's of space on my hardrive and 1.5 gig RAM I had the same problem after installing PMDG 747.. Therefore there were no problems. I'm not a computerexpert (indeed) but I saw that the little program FSSave that I use each time it makes a backup (into "saved routes") it is also making a panelbackup in a PMDG map.Herman (EHGG)PS: I uninstalled the PMDG 747, waiting for a patch
August 11, 200520 yr Author Hi all,I followed the forum thread Jaap mentioned from Joachim Buhre. I have installed Roads & Rivers of Europe from Justflight. I also have All Roads of Europe from FSQuality. I did some research. Seems to be that both products are exactly the same (strange, this is not mentioned on both websites???). Same bitmaps, same bgl-files. So I followed the suggestions of Joachim's forum thread, and moved EUROPE.BGL from the R&RE scenery folder to the BASE folder. And??? No CTD's anymore, and lots of FPS. And the roads and rivers look great. So Jaap, thanx for the tip.Regards,Jeroen van SchoneveldVelserbroekThe Netherlandshttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpgASUS A8N-SLI, AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (2,4 Ghz) San Diego processor, 2Gb DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Mem, ASUS V6800 PCIE Ultra 256 MB video Regards, Jeroen The Netherlands
