737-200 FMS: LNAV never active

Featured Replies

Hi,

I guess I need some help with the 737-200 FMS. Everything seems to work fine, except that the flight plan never really gets engaged. The flight plan looks OK and I get a sign that the first waypoint is active, but whatever I do, the plane always follows the direction I set in HDG, not the actual flight plan. The active waypoint also does not change when I pass a waypoint, I have to do this manually. The effect is that the sign for the active waypoint is changed, but the plane still follows HDG instead of the plan.

I do have both FD switches on (first left, then right), FMS selected and LNAV engaged. Still HDG is what matters, even though it is not engaged.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Peter

If you're using the SP77, the FMS isn't operational and will have zero effect.
