I am getting atidxx32.dll ctd, in dx preview mode, fsx gold up to sp2, no real mods few modern planes to test t3extures?

 

I think its OOM aswell. have a radeon 200 r9, dx runs fine without the benfits of 10, which are none at the moment.

 

read all the forums, but not getting anywhere fast.

You have several tweaks in your FSX.cfg.  Most likely, one of those tweaks is causing the crash.  Only way to determine is to move the fsx.cfg to a temp directory, restart fsx and let the config rebuild.  Change the resolution in your FSX settings and enable DX10 Preview.  If you want you can change some other settings but not necessary.  You just want to dump the tweaks as they could be in conflict with your ATI video card.  If the crash(es) continue, then you can bring back the tweaks and the old FSX.cfg and we can look for other possible solutions.

 

 

 

fsx gold up to sp2

 

You do know that FSX Gold contains FSX Deluxe and Acceleration.  Acceleration is the payware version of SP2.  Many individuals did not want to buy the stuff included in Acceleration so Microsoft made a freeware version with just the upgrades in SP2.  So, if you installed FSX Gold and SP2, you have a corrupted installation of FSX and you will need to uninstall SP2 and maybe Acceleration too and reinstall just Acceleration.

it is deluxe not gold, my mistake

 

have tried a fresh  fsx.cfg, but still get the same ati32 crash.. after enabling aa itseems to be worse, ie crashes quicker if 1900 display is set.

 

it is a newly upgrade windows 10 64 bit machine, have unistalled the driver completely and reinstalled.

 

just come back to fs after about 10 years away, I think fs 2004 was the last time I tried it

I still think it's your fsx.cfg.  Tweaks just do not work anymore especially if you have a late model computer system and Windows 10.  You have every tweak in your config that I have ever heard about.  None of them work and I and many others have tried to make them work but they don't.  If they worked properly, Lockheed Martin techs would have employed them all in P3D which is a somewhat updated version of FSX (they can't mess with the engine too much).  Dovetail would have installed them too if they thought they would make their product work better. 

 

I have put together a lot of ways to maintain your computer and fix many of the crashes related to FSX in the AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature).  I would take a look at that guidance if replacing your fsx.cfg does not fix your problem.
