September 19, 201510 yr Am I missing something simple? When attempting a GPS approach am I suppose to get a glide slope indicator like I would with an ILS approach? I do with other simulated G1000's, Eaglesoft Kodiak for example. I have tried toggling through the CDI, no dice. Any Help would be appreciated. Silly me, forgot to mention that I have the RXP430 installed in a popup.
January 1, 201610 yr Hi Folks, There are different kinds of GPS approached - both precision and non-precision - precision has vertical guidance (virtual glide slope) LPV - non-precision does not... You have to look at the plates... Use this example off the top of my head (KMSV) 15 has precision with a DA (Decision Altitude) - - - 33 does not and has an MDA (Minimum Decent Altitude)... The other requirement for vertical guidance is that your GPS has to be WAAS capable for greater accuracy - RXP's first GPS did not have WAAS while their later model does... Hope this helps... Regards, Scott
