September 21, 201510 yr Hello to all! I Am confused about this, 144hz monitor, Do I set internal FSX Limiter to 1/2 refresh rate (72 FPS) or 3/4 refresh rate (36 FPS) ? September 22, 201510 yr Without G-Sync your GPU would struggle too maintain V-sync, even at 1/2..... its likely you may suffer from tearing and artifacts if you run it at 144hz.. so in any case you would set Nvidia Inspector v-sync to 1/3 and set the fps inside fsx at the calculated number. Steve Waite has written an excellent guide to V-sync options in FSX. make sure you enable windows aero with a batch file or fsuipc. http://www.codelegend.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=500
September 23, 201510 yr Author Thanks, Rick. So, 1/3 refresh rate is set in Nvidia inspector. inside FSX set to 48FPS. Seems pretty smooth. Although this is a G-Sync monitor, does it even work for FSX-SE? It doesn't show up under supported games in G-Force experience. Probably spent money on non-supported technology, but it looks great anyway!!! Any other tips will be greatly appreciated!! Take care! September 23, 201510 yr Mike ok you did not mention it was G-Sync.. in that case 144hz is amazing for FSX/P3d and we now eliminate all/any v-sync tweaks inside FSX including the cfg as well as the Inspector profile... I have a Asus Swift G-sync and it works fine, 1) Firstly I would start fresh.. remove your current Nvidia driver and install newest(355.98 released today) 2) Now enable your FSX profile in Nvidia inspector... 3) Now so all you really need to do is set G-sync up in the main Nvidia panel under Manage 3D settings/ Global settings (not Nvidia Inspector).. and browse through to make sure all the settings point to G-sync.. then choose the G-Sync setup tab.. enable G-Sync for Full screen and Windowed mode, . 4) Now you will need to run Framerates to unlimited inside FSX, G-sync does not work below 30 FPS.... let G-Sync control the V-Sync. it works 100% so you did not waste money.
