Accross Country on a single tank of fuel?

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,I was wondering, what aircraft is capable of going accross country on a single tank of fuel? any aircraft, addon or default.I'm planing on going from New York to California.Anyone have any ideas on whitch aircraft can handle this? Thanks.

There is hardly an aircraft that has a "single" tank. Even Cessna 172 has two. So probably you meant "without refueling". Many airplanes can do it - usually those bigger ones starting from something like 737 NG. Also many business jets can do it non-stop without any problems. Michael J.

Yes, that is what i ment.Quick question, can the default 737-400 in fs2004 do it without refueling?

>Quick question, can the default 737-400 in fs2004 do it>without refueling?No, only the new generation 737 (NG) can do it (unless you fly West-to-East with a vert good tail wind).Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

Ok, what jetliner do you recomend for flying coast to coast?

Dr. Bogger, each airplane that comes with FS9 has a whole page with technical data including the range. I think you will be able to figure out the rest ...Michael J.

i was asking what jet do you recomend. im looking for a 3rd party jetliner i can download to use. and i was wondering what one u would recomend me using.

that's a very tough question, do you like advanced systems or something you can just sit down in and fly? PMDG makes a gerat 737 and the best 747, while the Level D 767 is fantastic as well. Eaglesoft makes great biz jets, their citation X is easy to fly and can go from coast to coast faster than any commercial jet.

If you want a freeware plane, try any of the OpenSky or Kittyhawk planes in that category. Or, try this nice MD-11:http://www.overland.co.jp/sms/free.htmlDon't worry about the langauge - the download and install are intuitive.I don't know if this is an accepted practice or not, but I have found many great freebies in the virtual airline fleets. Many of them are tweaked a bit and have some enhancements. As a Mountain Air member, for long trips I recommend the Boeing 757 found on our site, and I am sure our management doesn't mind people trying out our fleet before they join up with us (or not). There are many other fine VA's out there, though. Just go to VATSIM to find a list of virtual airlines. Join one for a good time and you will learn a lot, to boot.If you want a payware plane, there are some good choices, but one might get bloodied a bit in the discussions over which one is best. It is kind of like politics or football, or maybe Martin vs Taylor, or Ford vs Chevy these days. For whatever reason, I have the LDS 767, and am very happy with it. You can find enough advice to last a lifetime on the forums, and if you read and heed, you can hardly go wrong. The forums, like the blogs, have their own BS police, but you have to pay attention.Good luck, and Have Fun!

The Howard 500 will do it. Grab a radial, do it in style. ;-)

Where can i download a good 737NG Jetliner?

Go to the AVSIM File Library. There are lots of good choices in there.

Has anyone tried that 7E7-800 jetliner? it's suppose to go a range of over 8500nm.

Search the forums on that, and I am sure you will get some info you are looking for.

>The Howard 500 will do it. Grab a radial, do it in style.>;-)Yup,I'm going to use the Howard on a Bendix NY-LA run on Sept 10th but..I'll make a Wichita fuel stop just to take a break. It'll be 8-9 hours, need to get up and walk around for a bit and then hit it once again.David
