How are you guys getting Course control using the VRInsight MCPII ?  This is one feature that I want to use but there are limited rotating knobs so I just wonder if anyone has a smart way to get this to work easily?  Thanks.

Yes there is. If you are using the standard PMDG 737 module (v3.2) you should find selecting Mode 2 for the centre MCP panel, the HDG knob controls the left hand CRS display and the ALT knob controls the right hand (copilots) CRS display.

 

If this does not work you need to assign the following:

 

MCP Mode 2 - HDG knob

 

+A = NGX_AP_CRSL inc

++A = NGX_AP_CRSL incfast

-A = NGX_AP_CRSL dec

--A = NGX_AP_CRSL_decfast

Press = NGX_AP_CRSL_show

 

For the ALT knob change CRSL for CRSR.

Thanks Scot.  Only problem is I cannot figure out which button on the VRInsight is used to select Mode 2 for the center MCP panel ?  Do I need to assign one and if so which one seems to work best ?

On the Combo II (Boeing) the top right hand user buttons on the Radio Panel are programmed as the Mode Selectors for the EFIS, MCP and COM respectively.  See MCP Combo mode page and select the following from the VRInsight Library.  Click Unlock to change.

 

Mode Switchers

6: VRI_EFIS_MODE_toggle

7: VRI_MCP_MODE_toggle

8: VRI_USER_Mode_toggle

 

Pressing these buttons will toggle through the set mode; displayed as "M121" on the display.  You need to assign the CRS functions to the Mode 2 tab on the MCP sub-page.
