First issue with P3D V3

Recommended Posts

I ran into my first issue with P3D V3 today. Navigraph data at CYVR (Vancouver) report RW 13 and 31 while P3D default scenery has RW 12 and 30. I also ran into that issue in CYYC ( Calgary). So its looks you might have to manually modify your SID/STARS data in order to fly with PMDG 777 and NGX 737. After the RW were adjusted, I was able to setup the FMC correctly.

Just a heads up.

is this not the same as FSX and prior versions of P3D? I do not believe the db was updated so the current navgraph data will be off for some locations.

Yes, the default nav and airport data remains the same as in FSX and earlier versions of P3D, so there will be some discrepancies between in-sim and r/w data. I hope that LM will look closely at overhauling the entire way that nav and airport data is stored in future releases. (Perhaps V4?)

It will not be an easy task, because the current nav and airport data is hard-coded into thousands of individual .bgl files, and changing to a different system would probably require a major change in the underlying scenery system.
