While I'm in a flight about every minute or so a black screen will flash for a split second with a

pop up that reads loading scenry. It's a real distraction and am wondering how to get ride of it.

It appears you are close to memory starvation. Just too many things loading at the same time. If you have a lot of photo scenery enabled, this will happen as it is constantly loading scenery (even stuff not around you). High FSX settings will also do it. Tweaks that are not properly employed will also cause this anomaly. The BufferPool tweak comes to mind.

I unchecked a lot of ORBX Scenry in the my configuration tool, but that didn't help. I went into the FSX settings and found that my cockpit was checked in 2 D because of FSCrew that I was running earlier. I checked the 3 D box again and no more black screen.

I don't think anyone would have figured that one out. Good to hear you got it figured out and you are back to flying!
