in FS2004, when I change from Windowed mode to full screen mode or back again.Does anybody know how to turn this sound "feature" off??Thanks Barry

It's a Windows event sound. Why it plays when switching from window to full screen mode I haven't a clue but if the sim works OK and this sound is only annoying you then you can delete the sound from Windows to get rid of it. Remember however it will not play at all this way even if the correct event to trigger it takes place. Here's a copy/paste from Windows Help:To assign sounds to program eventsOpen Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel. On the Sounds tab, in the Program events list, click the program event to which you want to assign a sound. In the Sounds box, click the sound you want to play whenever the selected program event occurs. If the sound you want to use is not listed, click Browse to search for it. NotesTo open Sounds and Audio Devices, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Sounds and Audio Devices. To test a sound, in the Sounds box, click the sound you want to test, and then click Play sound . To stop the sound, click Stop . The event I think you are looking for is "Default Beep". Click on the "Sounds" dropdown menu and select "None" for this sound. You might want to save it as a seperate theme so you can restore it easily if you wish.

Greetings Barry,It could be the Windows "Default Beep" sound that you are hearing. I get that too. If you want to shut it off simply perform the following:- navigate to the Windows control panel,- double-click "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon, - Select the "Sounds" tab,- Select the "Default Beep" in the Program events box,- change to different sound or select "none" at the top of the sounds box.Just note that this turns off the "Default Beep" for all of windows operating system and applications, not just for flight simulator.Hope that works, I did not test it myself-Todd
