Sometimes, especially on long flights, P3D (and FSX in the past) will stutter/pause very briefly about once a second.

Lowering settings etc does not eliminate this stutter/pause, only a restart of the sim.

 

Strangely, the stutter coincides with the update frequency of task manager and process explorer. Just after each update within task manager the sim exhibits its stutter.

 

I have no unusual disk activity and no processes hogging CPU time. The only thing I have not checked is my paging file setup, but assumed this would not be used due to 16GB of RAM.

 

Any suggestions appreciated.

Do you have autosave checked in FSUIPC? The default setting is save every minute, which is too much. Another thing to look at is excluding P3D from your anti-virus program, it might be scanning everytime something loads like scenery or weather.
