August 22, 200520 yr I know that Tom & Company posted some info about this happening. Perhaps the new software is up and running. For whatever reason, the forum is now as smooth as buttery, with no lag, hesitation or similar probs. Thanks guys!Sherm
August 22, 200520 yr Sherm, sorry to get you excited. :)We forgot to throw a switch when we rebooted the system the other day, and that made the system appear to be running faster / better than normal. We have since reset the switch, so that the system should appear to be as sluggish as it used to be. :)Seriously, we have to put an upper limit on bandwidth consumption or otherwise bankrupt us and BTN (our pipe provider). We set that limit to about 100 megs/sec. When we did a reboot the other day, we forgot to put the limit switch to the 100 meg threshold. That's why you saw the performance you did. Had me fooled too. I had to get in touch with our head geek-a-zoid (Matt) to ask if we had come online with our new server.
