HELP! Can't see callsigns in Aircraft selection menu

Featured Replies

Not sure what is wrong here, but all of a sudden I can no longer see any callsigns when I select a plane in the aircraft selection menu. THis is tiring, because every plane I fly myself will then be called by its registration, not by its callsign. I checked the aircraft.cfg, everything perfect there (in the atc_callsign line). It's not that the callsigns are inexistent, since I can hear them being used for my AI, even though the callsigns for AI planes don't show up either when I look at them in the aircraft selection menu in FS.Any help? Thanks

Hi,I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you mean that when you click the Change ATC button there are no airline names in the Airline drop down box? If so, you need to update the airlines.cfg file using EditVoicePack. If you mean instead that you don't choose an airline there (i.e. you use the one listed in the plane's aircraft.cfg file), then when you click the Change ATC button there is a checkbox to decide whether you want ATC to call you by the airline or the plane's reg number. Make sure this box is checked correctly.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

If so, you>need to update the airlines.cfg file using EditVoicePack.>Tom,it's exactly this!I am not a newbie to FS, so I've checked the obvious things like:- there is an entry in the aircraft.cfg - that is the case- the callsign "exists", i.e. it is defined through EditVoicePack - that is the case as well, otherwise I wouldn't hear it being used for AI traffic.I simply cannot "visualise" any callsign for any plane in the Airline dropdown box - the box is empty for each and every plane. Funny thing is, AI planes are still called by their correct callsigns (although I did not "see" them in the dropdown box); it's just the plane I am flying myself which is not called by its callsign.Something got corrupted I guess. But what? How can I fix it?Thanks for any helpChris

Move the airlines.cfg (renaming the file seems to get strange changes to you renamed file so that is not enough - weird I know don't ask ...) but do not delete it. Run Editvoicepack, instruct it to update airlines.cfg and it will create a new one. Just tried and works fine. If something goes wrong you will still have the one that doesn't work! The file is in the same folder as all of your aircaft for any that don't know where it is although I know you do :-) Hopefully that will solve your problem? I am sure you will let me/us know.Andrew BrownROARING THIRTIEShttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Andrew, YES!!!! That worked. The problem is fixed, thanks so much!Chris
