August 25, 200520 yr When trying to takeoff from LAX for example, ATC only allows me to choose runways 7L,7R,6R and 6L. I want to be able to choose any runway to takeoff from.I've downloaded a number of afcads in order to try to solve this problem but haven't found a solution yet. Thanx
August 25, 200520 yr Hi,It is set by the wind direction. What are you using for your weather?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
August 26, 200520 yr Author Actives are determined by winds, and sadly you can't request a tailwind runway as you have the option to in the real-world. You can not request a midfield take-off either. I have done a few take-offs from a runway with a tailwind, and at midfield, when the wind was less than 6 knots in leui of taxiing across the airport (which can take 15-20 minutes some times). Since it's a computer program with set coded regulations, they made it as real as possible without coding every exception to the rules, most-likely because of AI handling.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. ATC sets up certain "flows" of incoming and outgoing traffic and they would probably balk if you asked to go against a flow.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
August 26, 200520 yr Author Yeah, I've only done it at Spokane International. Once again, one of many exceptions that would have to be coded in.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have.
