August 26, 200520 yr I noticed that even when the Bell Ranger copter is at lowest idle on the ground and should be still, it keeps moving to the side ever so slightly. If left for a while, it will move into a building or other obstacle and crash. The only way to stop it seems to be to shut it down completely. Any ideas on how to keep it still?? Thanks. Tom
August 26, 200520 yr Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I have mastered almost all the basic maneuvers in SAR and FLY enhanced default choppers including transitions to/from over, cruise into normal/steep descent and autorotation or normal touchdown(except I crunch the tail still way too often on a "sudden stop"), but the default FS9 Bell is way tough and sensitive. There is not much native support for helicopters in the shell, but some clever individuals have gotten around it in many ways. There are .air file enhancements that adress your problem, but it should not affect normal reaction to wind in flight. Try a few from hovercontrol.com some models in the Avsim library also are enhanced default.Best Regards, Donny:-wave
August 26, 200520 yr Try the DODOSIM realstart Jet Ranger - do a google search - it isn't free but worth every penny. There is a forum at hovercontrol, where it says member services , click on message forums and go down the the very bottom and u will see DODOSIM support forum.regarding your jet ranger, your throttle could be to much on full percent , fetch up the throttle stick with the panel icon and cercrease the revs with the gov switch, watch the percent gauge on panel and don't go out of the small green band. This may work - but it all works in the DODOSIM.byeeee:) :) :)
August 26, 200520 yr All aircraft creep slightly when sitting with the engines running. I've seen the King Air move a mile or more, with the parking brake set, over about 12 hours. The Bell also uses a different flight dynamics system than the Robinson. Most of it's parameters are only configurable / adjustable in the .AIR file. The Robinson uses a newer set of flight dynamics parameters with much of the data in the aircraft.cfg file.
