Reinstalling FS9 Addons

Featured Replies

In a couple of weeks I will be getting a new rig. I was wondering whether there is a way to move my addons from the old to the new computer without having to reinstall everything. ricardo

If it's a complete new rig I'd take the time and reinstall them. There's only a few companies that give you grief if you need to redownload the product, and most include patches. Then do all your freeware stuff-take a screenshot of your addon directory so you know what sceneries and airports you have--and for a few weeks at least you'll have a well organized FS9 folder.billg

I just had a full system crash and had to reinstall everything from scratch. That meant trying to get some of my payware reactivated. For the most part I was successful, although I'm still waiting to hear from the folks at PMDG and HiFi.Back to your original question: If your using WinXp there is a simple processing of transferring files from one pc to another. You could also back everything up on CD or DVD (like I should've done) and just reinstall at your leisure.Good luck with your new system!

Moving over your aircraft and effects folder should be very easy. Scenery will probably be best to reinstall. After all, you will need to have a new scenery.cfg file.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

Thanks for the replies. I'm just dreading having to reinstall EVERYTHING, which will probably keep me occupied until FS 10 is released, lol. The main problem is the large number of freeware stuff I have installed, of course none of it backed up on cds.
