August 31, 200520 yr hi,Could someone tell me the difference between a mesh and a sceneryI know its a stupid question buit I am a master in it !!!:+ ricardo
August 31, 200520 yr Yours is not a stupid question. There are no stupid questions, because we all are learning from each other. As I understand it, Mesh is the three dimensional look given to terrain. what you are calling "scenery" may really be "landclass." these are the files that show whether scenery is farmland, urban, golf course, etc. think of terrain as the cake, and landclass as the icing. btw, when you install any landclass sceneries, they should be in their own folder, i.e. landclass/scenerydo not but in a texture folder, even if it is your intention to keep it empty. the presence of texture in a landclass folder tend to slow things down and leak memory...Sherm
September 1, 200520 yr I think Sherm is right on with his answer. The only thing I would add is that while "mesh" is a very specific term regarding FS, "scenery" is wide open for interpretation. It seems to be used when referring to anything from mesh terrain, such as mountains and the like, to LWM/VTP polygons like lakes, streams, roads, etc., right down to landclasses (which are sets of ground textures that are laid over mesh), and even airports and buildings. I think we need some more descriptive phrases to discuss all the different aspects of "scenery" that FS allows us to change. So no, not a stupid question at all. In fact, I'm sure that more people are confused by it than let on!thanks,
