Delete Non-Existant Islands From ORBX AU Scenery

Featured Replies

ORBX AU Blue scenery shows 3 islands to the west of French Island in Westernport Bay (Victoria).  These 3 islands do not exist in the real world.  How would one go about preventing these islands from appearing? I have no experience at all in scenery design and my 70 year old brain might not cope with anything real complex but I'd be willing to give it a go if someone could point me in the right direction

Since this is a supported payware product my first suggestion is to go to the Orbx forums and ask that they provide an update or patch to their scenery.

If you want to DIY, then you need the SDK installed and then get SBuilderX from ptsim.com. If you're lucky you can just draw a hydro polygon over the fictional islands, compile to a BGL and install to a layer above the Orbx scenery. Unfortunately the hydro polygon will cover the island with water but not the shoreline if the island has one. If you're left with a shoreline then you need to make an exclude shorelines polygon, but you can end up excluding shorelines from nearby coastlines as well. In that case you would need to draw shorelines to replace any that were inadvertently removed by the exclude polygon.
