September 4, 200520 yr My LIC Scout loses electrical power after a while -- and, in other a/c, this usually happens to me if I forget to turn on a generator switch. However, The LIC Scout doesn't have a Gen switch. I can easily install another from another a/c -- but before I do that, I am wondering if I am doing something wrong??Regards Barry
September 4, 200520 yr Have you got the Magneto switches on (2 switches available on the popup electrical panel)?Should work okay if the Master/Battery switch is on and the Mag's. The icon located at the bottom of the 2D and VC panel that has a lightning bolt with (+) and (-) signs will bring up the panel.
September 5, 200520 yr Nope -- lost electrical power about 10 minutes after takeoff - even with both magneto switches turned on.Anybody else got any ideas? Thanks Barry
September 5, 200520 yr Mags shouldn't have anything to do with battery drain unless the planes programmed funny. The mags don't charge the battery in a real aircraft. His problem is that there seems to be no alternator so the batery drains.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. MS suggests to restart FS9 with the default flight (Cessna 172 at Seattle), which aids FS9 in a recalibration, of sorts, to its internal brain. Then the user can switch to the 3rd party aircraft which should then be properly set up. This has worked for me and many other users on numerous occasions in getting rid of those bothersome glitches. If the above doesn't do it, I would also try:1. a computer restart2. be sure no failures are ticked in FS9's default failures menuOf course, as previously mentioned, an alternator/generator switch could be added to the Scout's panel even though it has been flying succesfully for myself and a multitude of other users without it.Hope you get her going, Barry.
September 5, 200520 yr Yep - added a generator switch from the Beaver and all is OK now. I like the VC lighting at night - good backlit gauges.Barry
September 5, 200520 yr Glad you got the Scout up and running, Barry. Too bad you needed the additional switch though. The real Scout utilizes an alternator (not a generator) that is tied to the Master Switch. You may find this "Scout" info interesting now that you are enjoying this aircraft.
