The Carendado G1000 user guide (p24) says you can load a fling planusing hte FSX Flight Planner. I don't see an option for that. Am I missing something. Also wondering if there is a way to save flight plans created in the G1000.

I'm pretty sure Carenado's response to saving G1000 flight plans was no.  But I don't know about loading a fsx flight plan into it, not sure about that one.
