Stuttering After 90mins?

Featured Replies

I believe FS Passengers is the criminal here, i had the demo installed and after uninstallation i've had 4 hours of stutter free flying. Evil thing! Try uninstalling that and see how you goHorgy

I did another test flight before uninstalling and still had the stutters just as bad as before. Since uninstalling FSPassengers I'm airborne over 2.5 hours now and still running smooth.

i have run FS Passenger for over 107 hours with no ill effect

HorgyThere seem to be two threads here - I provided a reply to the shorter one. You might care to have a look at it.Bud

Normally, other than memory leak, the problem is due to heating. Pentium processors handle the heat better than AMDs (AMDs can die very fast with heat), but they tend to loose speed and the life of the processor gets shortened.Do a couple of things to see what happens. Go to guru3d.com and download Speedfan (if you haven't yet). Check your temps. You say you are running around 45/50. I have a P4 3.0 and I am running at those temps too, but only when I use FS9. Other than that I never go higher than 35 ( and I live in the Caribbean where with air conditioner your room temp is about 27 C).Monitor your temperatures when you use FS9. Check if they increase or not. Then buy a compressed air can and clean the heatsink. If possible, open the PC case and blow with a fan into it.Try these things and see what happens. As an example I was having the same problem as my heatsink was dirty. I was getting as high as 72 C. I cleaned the heatsink and now I never go above 50 C. Of course the problem is gone.Leo

Also, get more RAM (1 G at least) and use FS autostart. Those things will help you a lot with texture loading, which can produce stutters too.Leo

Hiya, I used to have the same problem, someone said my computer might be overheating, so I bought a case cooling fan for my pc and now FS runs fine.Hope this helpsgavi25
