CTD Eaglesoft CJ1+

Featured Replies

I have a Eaglesoft CJ1+.

It hadn't any problem before.

once I formated my desktop

then I reinstall the addon

it doesn't work anymore

I tried to uninstall and reinstall Window and FSX several times

still not working

I think my system has no problem

because other addons(Eagle soft Citation2 and PMDG NGX) are working properly.

What is problem?

The best solution is to check with the developer of the aircraft over in the forums at Eaglesoft.  The developer, Ron Hamilton, can usually help if he has enough information about the crash.  This is why I recommend you download and run AppCrashView (see page 1 of the AVSIM CTD Guide, link in my signature).  If there's no crash data, then you need to check the Event Viewer.  In the CTD Guide, page 2, we have put in detailed instructions on how to properly view the Event Viewer to look for the cause of your crash.

One main reason why an aircraft will not work is the fact you did not have User Access Controls (UAC) disabled when you were installing the aircraft.  This can happen when you reinstall Windows and you forget to disable UAC.  You also need to have your anti-virus or malware program disabled so that it does not scan any of the FSX folders, especially the main one.  Many anti-virus and malware programs throw out "false positives" and quarantine a required file or gauge needed to run your aircraft.  Of course you can look in your anti-virus program and see if anything FSX related was quarantined.

If you installed FSX in the default folder (C:\Program Files (x86)), that could cause some security problems too.  It is recommended by many experts to place FSX in a non-default folder.  I have mine in K:\FSX.  You could have yours in C:\FSX.  The next thing you want to do is to make sure FSX always starts up with Administrative Privileges.  You do this by going into the FSX main directory and right clicking FSX.exe and selecting Properties.  Once open, select the compatibility tab and look all the way down and make sure it states always start FSX with administrative privileges for ALL users (i.e., not just you).  It's not going to fix everything or eliminate your problem but it could help eliminate the problem.  If you have a file or gauge required for the CJ1 and it is not there and the program is looking for it, that could cause a crash.  If you did not trust the gauges after the product was installed, that won't crash your product but the program is going to nag you until you do trust the gauges (unfortunately (for me) I have to probably say more than what is needed as you did not provide any information whether this was done or what happened during the installation or where the crash occurred or whether there was an error message or where everything is installed).  The Event Viewer will probably show the crash and tell us why.

Hope this helps.
