September 21, 200520 yr I am beginning to fly the Boeing 767-300ER (IFDG model), and find that I am buckling the landing gear, upon landing. I am careful to have no more than 50% fuel on board, with a payload of 50,000lbs.I have no idea what the approach and landing speeds should be. I have tried landing at 160Kts, 155kts and 145kts. It seems that the slower the speed upon landing, the better.Does anyone have any data on this aircraft, regarding speeds, flaps etc. upon:1. takeoff2. climb3. cruise4 descend5 landingThanks.Stanner
September 21, 200520 yr A 50% fuel load is still roughly 80,000 lbs or more on a -300? You're undoubtedly over max landing weight, try landing with about 15000 lbs and see how it behaves. All the speeds for the different flight modes you've mentioned are ALL dependent on weights and conditions. Just thinking off the top of my head though, on a fully loaded -300 with 15K fuel left, your landing speed should be around 135-140'sh or so. September 21, 200520 yr Hi Stanner,A good place to start would be in the AvSim file library. Search for ZAGOREN. Matt Zagoren has published documentation on many of the big jets, including the B767-300.This will give you the V-speeds for any flap setting and aircraft weight. Not sure about climb or descent speed schedules.Hope this helps.Regards,JerryH
September 21, 200520 yr I flew the 767-400ER at an airline training center a few years ago. We used 140 knots on short final with 30 degrees flaps.
September 22, 200520 yr Author Hello Stanner, Here is a data set that you can begin with and also an ops manual guide that might shed some light on the subject(If the tables do not show up in this post then simply click on the link to view). The weights are in Kg's therefore you can convert if you are using lbs. It might appear to be a lot of info to digest but it really is straight forward as graphs might be tricky at this point.Have fun,Douglas>I have no idea what the approach and landing speeds should be.> I have tried landing at 160Kts, 155kts and 145kts.
