February 3, 201610 yr HI all, Clean full install of Win10 Pro, not upgrade. Fresh install of FSE:SE. Upon my first load i was given the error of no DX9, which I downloaded and installed. Now it crashes as soon as the splashscreen is displayed. Just reinstalled FSX, no addons, no cfg file (yet). FSX.exe set to run in compatibilty mode for Win8, and checked to Run this program as an Administrator. This hardware was running FSE:SE like a champ on Win7....
February 3, 201610 yr FSX.exe set to run in compatibilty mode for Win8 This should be unchecked. Make sure you have all of your hardware drivers up-to-date. I use the freeware Driver Booster which does not require a license but has many nags to try to get you to buy a license. Still it is very accurate so I got an annual license. This has fixed this problem for a couple people last month. Move the dll.xml to a temporary folder and make sure the problem is not associated with any of the modules loading in this file at startup. February 4, 201610 yr Author Jim....you da man.. Driver booster found a couple of missing drivers, that did the trick. You're right, annoying program, but absolutely bang on. Bravo Zulu.
