Too fast movement in VC

Featured Replies

This is the case: I have Active Camera. I don't know when or why it happened, but, like most of us, I intall stuff and configure my sim all the time. All of a sudden, the movement in VC is way too fast when I use the numpad to move around. One touch on a key, and my pov is outside in open air before I know it. Very dangerous without a chute!Anyone who know how to fix, I'd be very happy!

Check your PAN_RATE value (in FS9.cfg). Change it to a more manageable 600 to 800.Keith

Thank's but I don't think that's the problem, it's at 400 now which is slower than you suggested. That setting is hooked to panning with i.e. the joystick hatch I think, while my problem is the moving around by num keys, with Active Camera.

Found it :) Walking speed in Active Camera Settings. Didn't think of that as I usually don't walk around in the GA's ...

I have had the same problem recently with AC. Where is the walking speed. I could not find it in setup. I have the latest version. In fact I think that is when I started having this overactive VC and movement outside.thanks,Carl

Options > ActiveCamera 2004 > Setup...Then External View right at the bottom of the box. Set Walking speed (m/s) to ie. 1.00.Hope this helps :)

Eagle,I feel like an idiot. I went to setup several times looking for walking speed. The third try I finally saw it. I guess it is after I put on my bi-focals.Thanks,Carl
