JS4100 for FSX Steam Edition

Featured Replies

I was looking in the PMDG operations center and I saw a drop down for the JS4100 for SE. I clicked on it and allowed me to purchase it but when I go to install it I get a message that the installation can not continue. Your registry does not show a valid FSX installation location. What do I need to do to fix this? I run the other PMDG aircraft just fine.

Thanks,

Brent Kolar

I've always been able to install the J41 into Steam with no problems. Are you running the installer as an administrator?

Brent,

As outlined in the Product Page for the JS4100, it is not currently compatible with FSX-SE at this time.  We are planning to convert the aircraft to the Steam platform but the team is quite busy with the 747-400 V2 and DC-6 products at the moment.  Once we have those wrapped up we can get back to converting the JS4100 over to Steam.   Sorry for any confusion caused by the Ops Center.

Make sure that you have full administrator privileges for FSX (go to your steam/steamapps/common/fsx folder, right click->security and set everything so you have full rights). Then, try uninstalling and re-installing it with your antivirus disabled. If that doesn't work I don't know what's wrong, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that it works perfectly in FSX:SE (even though it isn't officially supported by PMDG).

Thanks for the info and I will give it a try later tonight.
