February 18, 201610 yr I know at 1080p with a few windows open at a heavy scenery area, FSX only used about 1.1Gig of vram. What does a machine running a high resolution setup use for vram?
February 19, 201610 yr Author I'll partially answer my own question after running many games at 3840x2180 tonight, more than 2 Gig. Time for a 4 Gig card purchase. <sigh>

I use 3 Titans X and I have seen on my system using almost the whole 6 gigs. Asus Rampage VI Extreme Encore(water Cooled) EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Hybrid, 64 DD4 @ 2800 2 x 2x M.2 in raid 0.
February 19, 201610 yr Author I use 3 Titans X and I have seen on my system using almost the whole 6 gigs. I find it hard to believe FSX is using all 6 Gigs at one time. Perhaps nVidia caches the textures some how in the vram for use later on if FSX calls for it?

Not sure how nvidia works but I was surprised too, I think it has to do with my resolution 8022 x 1600. I did a while ago a vid with a not so heavy scenery and it used 3500/4000.
