Navigation for freeware a/c on VATSIM

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I'm looking for something in the way of a navigation program for P3D that will enable me to fly the likes of the TDS 787 on VATSIM following SIDs/STARs etc. I've heard of vasFMC and some others but looking for some guidance on which would be the best one to use?

Thanks

vasFMS is pretty good, however there is nothing like having an FMS integrated into the NavDisplay and flight instrumentation as you do with Payware aircraft.

Are you avoiding payware aircraft or just wanting to fly the 787?

IMHO VasFMC is the best but sometime sid and star are a little bit caothic to leave the autopilot follow them,

There is also http://emarciano.free.fr/En/Main.htm but never tested.

VasFMC need navdata to be updated to the current cycle and there is a free solution too:

http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html.

Overall is the best you can have for free to my knowledge.

Have fun

There are some really great payware options, Sam.  Undoubtedly, the best is Ernie Alston's ISG1 package (http://secure.simmarket.com/ernie-alston-integrated-simavionics-group-1-(isg1).phtml).  For $25, you get a complete avionics suite that covers your entire fleet.  The gauges are easily integrated into your cockpit (examples here: http://www.isgsim.com/?page=panel_library).  Other payware options include Eric Marciano' Easy FMC-X (http://www.fspilotshop.com/eric-marciano-easyfmc-p-4165.html) and JSG's Universal FMC (http://www.fspilotshop.com/jsg-panels-universal-fmc-for-fsx-p-4936.html).  However, it should be noted the last two options use flight sim internal navigation database, whereas ISG1 is completely independent; moreover, ISG1 updated via navigraph.  If you fly freeware aircraft, ISG1 is  the best $25 you can spend.   I used the package extensively prior to PMDG's 737 and 777 release...very well programmed.
