October 3, 200520 yr Hi, Does anybody know of a site where I could get some help on CS's 707? I bought it and feel extremely disapointed at their lack of proper documentiation, apparrently sub standard product quality, and lack of suppport. Up to right now, this product looks like a joke to me. I even woner why they even bother to make it; we'll I do have a theory though: to catch suckers like me! I am not looking forward to the Herc from this past experience! ( I had it similar as I remember from the 727 :( )Any help would be appreciated.regards,Macs.
October 3, 200520 yr Author Will AVSIM review the "legendary" 707? I wonder what AVSIM's reviewers have to say about this product? regards,Macs
October 3, 200520 yr When you installed the product, you should also have installed a manual that you can find in this directory:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Captain_Sim707manual
October 3, 200520 yr >When you installed the product, you should also have>installed a manual that you can find in this directory:>C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator>9Captain_Sim707manual>>The manual is generally considered pretty useless for actually flying the plane, though. Macs, I don't have the plane myself (I'm not into airliners), but it seems most people had the same experiences and reaction as you. Captain Sim's reputation as a company is in the sewer at this point because of their flawed, buggy, poorly-documented products and complete lack of customer support.

October 3, 200520 yr Author VAA 008, Finding and reading the "manual" is not the problem. The problem is the manual itself, it is useless. It is put toghether haphazardly, kind of like words from alphabet soup; the only practical use I can find for it is as toilet paper. regards,Macs

October 4, 200520 yr Well there was another thread on this Forum that was started June 27, 2005 , and out of the first 10 replies to a question about this Captain 707 sim, there were already several warnings that basically said " Run Away , run away!!. Payware has gotten expensive enough that before I purchase anything, I do alot of reading on forums and support groups to see what kind of issues people are having with the product. Only then, will I get out the credit card. In the last year, I have liked every purchase I have made, using this method.
October 4, 200520 yr Author No, not as virtual toilet paper, as I made the mistake of printing the darned thing! :-bluegrabregards,Macs
October 4, 200520 yr I once purchased the MD-11 from "Perfect Flight"I learned my lesson and do not purchase from them again.I enjoyed the 727 even though the updates for FS9 were really badSo I bought the 707, boy did I learn my lesson. I will not purchase the herc until I hear from the community that it is at least an enjoyable experience and not something you can't fly from the VC because of a memory leak that crashes your game.
October 4, 200520 yr Hi Macs; You need "Mike Stinchfield' Captain Sim 727 Tutorial". It's in the AVSIM Library exactly as I've quoted here. It makes up for what the CS folks omit, and you'll find it gives you all you need to successfully fly this aircraft. With all due respect to others' opinions - in spite of all the huffing, puffing and criticisms - this is not a bad aeroplane. It actually LOOKS like an aircraft, rather than a cartoon - which many others appear to be. Yes - it's a handfull to land, but if you manage your power and do the right things at the right time - you'll have a ball with it. . regards,pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

Severe memory leaks in the VC.2. Wrong autopilot logics.3. Wrong enginer panel logics.4. Wrong upper panel logics.5. Several dummy switches on the upper panel.6. They didn Staffan
October 4, 200520 yr Duh!I guess I can't see 707 for 727. October 4, 200520 yr Author Hi pj, Thanks for your response. I thank you for you pointing out the other manual, as I will download it to try to use the 707 and not feel totally scamed. The sad thing is that CS should have provided the proper documentation, not somebody else. They wrote back to me telling me there were some free checklists on FS.com. I find that funny/sad/angering as the checklists should be made by them and be part of the manual; this is called pleijurism in my book. On regard to the plane, I have to disagree with you my friend, as my brand of simming does not put much enfasis to looks as much as function ( I like good quality graphics, but they are second to proper function). I don't find the aircraft difficult to fly or handle in the ground either, it is not a handfull by a long shot, in fact, it has a good "heavy" predictable feeling to it, from what I have seen; but like I said, I look for realism in operation, or how the plane is flown in real life. See, the thing is, there is no explanation (documentation) how to fly it properly. There are very little systems explanations, there is little preformance data, and the data they do provide is totally way off to not only the airplane itself, but the sim plane performance as well! Well, anyway, I'll check out the "other" manual and see if I can get something out of the add-on.Thanks and best regards, :)Macs
