October 7, 200520 yr Hi guys,My FS2004 install is more than one year old, and suddenly I noticed the sky colors looks like they were displayed in 16 colors.I use 1280/1024/32 resolution display.Anyone encountered the same problem before? Here is a pic of what I get:http://aiarnaud.free.fr/nochange.jpgand here is the same pic exagerated so that you see what the problem is.http://aiarnaud.free.fr/odd_ps.jpgI havent reinstalled my drivers yet, I suspect its an FS problem, or worse maybe, a broken DirextX (I have 9.0c installed)Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
October 7, 200520 yr Looks like you are running in 16bit colour and maybe using thrid party sky sets?If this is not the problem I'm not sure what the issue is?
October 7, 200520 yr Thanks for replying Peter. No, I dont use any third party sky set,the problem arose all of sudden. I havent installed anything recently, except I had to change my CRT with a TFT.But the problem seem to be software and not hardware though. I tried to lower FS to 16bit, the result was a bit worse. I am indeed in 32bit setting, so I dont understand.Could that be related to DirectX? I use 9.0C.And I have no other games installed.
October 8, 200520 yr Author I assume you tried System Restore, to a date before thetroubles with a cold reboot.Peter Sydney Australia
November 3, 200520 yr Well, I bump the thread today, because almost a month after I became aware of the problem, after something like 20 system re-install and couple of FS re-install, the lines are still there.I even re-installed my odler nVidia GeForce4 back, and got the same result.Would that be, very simply, that my eyes are now seeing what they didnt see before? I mean, I had a look at FS sky textures (32*32 pixel bitmaps) and i come to think that it is simply FS sky.Could anyone please look carefully look at your skies, preferably at dusk in spot view and zoomed out, and see if you also see those artifacts?Again, I've tried two different gfx card with different dirvers for each, different directX versions, nothing helps.
