Install Scenery to non-default location

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am just returning to FSX now that I have more free time.

I presently have FSX-MS installed on a small SSD that my PC boots from.

However I want to install my scenery files onto a larger internal hard drive, is this possible?

I don't mind slow loading scenery when I am flying.

thanks in advance

It should not matter where you install your scenery files as long as you point FSX to them when adding them to

your FSX library.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Half of my Sceneries are in a different HD, make sure files like effects, textures etc that are meant to be placed in FSX  or P3D main folder are placed properly in their intended folders.

Hi,

I've just recently added a SSD to my system, and I used this software https://dirlinker.codeplex.com/ to connect my ORBX scenery on my HDD to my new SSD where my FSX is installed. There are other methods out there to use (symbolic links) but I found this simple enough even for me.
