How do I enter a named intersection into the right side of the TARGET POSITION field on the GNS 530 VNAV page? In fact, I can't seem to find a way to enter any type of waypoint into that field; I can't highlight the waypoint area because the cursor jumps from the BEFORE/AFTER position to the VS PROFILE field. .

Based on some trial and error, it looks like the answer to my question above is "you can't" enter a named intersection directly. I think what happens in this simulation of the GNS 530 is that the "next" waypoint (for the leg being flown, or selected) in the flight plan is automatically entered into the TARGET POSITION field, and only the last 3 characters of that waypoint's identifier is shown.

Please correct me if that is wrong.

 

My next question is, can you fly a LPV approach with this simulation of the GNS 530 in that both lateral and glide path information will be coupled to the HSI display as happens with an ILS approach?
