Not following my flight plan

Recommended Posts

I alway fly realistic flight plans from flightaware, and build my flight plan in SimBrief. It loads just fine on VoxATC. When I fly I use the same weather condition as in the real world using Active Sky, in real time for that current flight plan, but for some reason VoxATC vectors me all over the place in my initial departure. 15 minutes later, I'm already at my top flight level, and it's still vectoring me around the same city, doesn't follow the flight plan. Any idea why?

Flight plan from KMKC to KMDW:  KMKC/19 ROYAL7 ARENZ DCT IRK MOTIF4 KMDW/22L

I couldn't go beyond ARENZ, just kept me going in circles.

Hi Johnny,

I just fly your FP with no problem.

The few times I had the issue you describe came from me for not having followed exactly the Star procedure. It may also be possible that the database used to create your fp were not identical to that used by Vox.

Regards,

There is nothing wrong with the database, It checks out and matches. I normally fly real world flight plans found on FlightAware, which matches what SimBrief suggest. I fly FSX, and download the correct format to my document\Flight Simulator X Files folder, which is the same folder all the default VoxATC flight plans are in. It loads fine on to my VoxATC Flight Plan Extras, and Active Sky. I use the up to date AIRAC for my Citation X. Everything checks out, and there are no problems when I ask for clearance. It's just after departure, it keeps me on a holding pattern on my SID route. Can't even get to my destination to even try a STAR procedure! I just don't get it!!!

My guess is that when you take off and head to MCI you are turning toward CAYKO too soon and VoxATC does not think you reached MCI  and is turning you back.  Just a guess.

I'll double check my flight path more carefully next time I take off, and see if that's the problem. Didn't think about VoxATC noticing my aircraft drifting a little to far from the path.
