Learjet 35A - Dont Sink

Hello flightsimmers,

 

 

Ive been flying this bird for many many hours since its first release.   I heard about the "dont sink" message was going to be resived, but i dont feel like its being worked so far....and i dont see any comments around.

 

No matter what i try, best perfect landing with the Lear, 700-800 fpm, speed around 135,  i still get the Dont sink message.  Sometimes i feel like increasing speed stops the aural warning, but sometimes i feel is not really speed.

 

 

So i have a few questions:

 

 

1- What triggers that "dont sink" aural warning?

 

2- Is there some way to stopt it? May be i the real aircraft we have some way and it is simulated probbably?

 

3- Is it realistic with the real aircraft or we need a Lear35A V2.5 revision??

Don't sink is a GPWS callout that only occurs if you would descend after takeoff. There is no 'Don't sink' callout on landing, there would be either 'Sink Rate', 'Glideslope' or 'Terrain' / 'Pull up'.

 

I also get it in the Lear, and it occurs because of the (very) faulty standard FSX module.

 

Search for [GPWS] in the aircraft.cfg, there you can modify the parameters.

Ou.....thanks...didnt know.....  may be Flysimware should check this out?....   I mean, if i have to modify aircraft.cfg, so why dont they just correct it... for realistic behavior?......

 

 

All right, what are those values recommended for [GPWS]  ?

You cannot really fix this, as it is based on FSX internal GPWS system, which is total bs. Only solution would be a custom GPWS, which would be quite a big development and rather over the top for a plane like the LJ. If you set the maximum altitude for don't sink to 0, it should stay quiet.
