Switching between DX9 and DX10

Featured Replies

Steve,

First off your DX10 fixer has revolutionised FSX for me. I use the VRS Superbug as well as other aircraft and therefore like to switch between DX10 and DX9. However switching back to DX9 via the controller leaves me with invisible parts of the aircraft.

Is there any way of fixing this?

Many thanks

Have you ever seen these aircraft parts be visible? The fixer doesn't change any textures so I don't understand how you can have the issue you describe?

Steve many thanks for your reply.

Yes the all aircraft parts are visible in DX10, they were visible in DX9 before installation of the fixer, it is only when I switch back to DX9 that all I'm left with is the undercarriage, weapons and canopy. I'll try rebuilding the FSX.cfg this weekend and see if that helps. All other addons are working seamlessly! Any other suggestions would be great. I'll post some screenies once I'm back as well.

If they are 8 bit textures (fs2002.era) the alpha channel is reversed from dx9 to dx10 which might explain what you see. However my fixer doesn't change textures in any way, and the norm is for such objects to be invisible in dx10. Do you have any texture conversion tools at all? Or the dx10 add on converter product?

Steve many thanks again. It must have been a conflict somewhere in my fsx.cfg, upon rebuilding it the issue has disappeared. I now keep 2 fsx.cfg files, one for the Superbug (DX9) and one for everything else (using your fixer). Thank you for the prompt support and for an amazing product.
