6 monitors in surround and wideview

Featured Replies

Hi everybody. I have a surround question for you all.

I have 3 monitors in surround and a fourth in wideview. This works pretty well although wideview is a tad wonky.

Has anyone done 6 monitors in surround(3x3)?

I am building a 737 pit and I would like to expand my side views with this configuration. Just wondering if and how well it works. Thanks everyone.

( Sorry if I didn't upload the pic correctly. Also don't pay attention to the Cessna in the monitors, just used it for alignment purposes.)

Don't think you are going to find many using six monitors.

Guess we need some more info from you to at least offer some suggestions.

Computer specs and sim used?

And what do you mean by one monitor in "Wideview"?

Hi--I use six 27" monitors in surround--all six comprise one screen view in 5760 X 2160 resolution. I have 2 Nvidia cards, each driving three monitors. I do not use multiple views simultaneously.  I always fly from the virtual cockpit.  I create a view in windowed mode and then stretch it out over six screens, and then go to full screen.  I fly mainly GA planes from A2A and the cockpit is more or less a one to one scale.  I love it.  The only tricky part is that you can't use Nvidia surround in this configuration.  To correct the bezels I physically align the screens by overlapping them to make a seamless view over the six screens.  That exercise took a little time, but I've been flying this way for a year and I'd never go back.

Thanks for the replies. I have a 4 computer setup with a 4770k and a 3770 running visuals. 4770k is paired to a gtx 780 and the 3770 is paired to a gt720.

On the 4770 I use surround and on the 3770 I use wideview. This is for the fourth monitor. My question really is can I use surround in wideview for three more monitors, example would be three monitors on 4770k in surround and three monitors on 3770 in surround and wideview.

Gbiz, wideview is the program for running fsx views on multiple computers.

Thanks for the info guys.

Do you guys use dx10 in fsx at fullscreen?

If so how?

Surround just tricks the computer into seeing three monitors as a single monitor

so you would think Wideview would also see those three as one and work as usual.

But I'm just guessing here.

I have used it in the past.

Do you mean how to go full screen with DX10 or how to enable DX10?
