Happy Birthday Boeing - 100 Years

Featured Replies

Boeing is 100 years old as it all started July 15, 1916 in Heath's Shipyard on the Duwamish River in Seattle. I will never forget my first time on an Air Canada Boeing 747-100 back in the 1970's and how exciting that was. I also really liked the 727's at that time as they looked and sound really cool (and still do). Modern jets don't have the same look and feel.

I would say the B-17 and the B-24 are the greatest aircraft ever produced with over 30,000 of them produced for the war effort in a short period of time. Then of course the 737 with more then 9000 of them produced over 50 years now, being close to half of Boeing's history as a company and many more decades to come.
