What GSync Monitor to P3D3?

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

I am looking to replace my Dell U2311H monitor to a new one with GSync technology, but don't know how to select one.

I saw Acer XB241H, Acer XB271HU...

I want a good one but no the most expensive...only want smoothness in the sim. You can see my system specs in my signature.

Thanks

Remember that G-Sync monitors don't work well at/below 30 FPS. If that's the sort of performance you're getting, then you're wasting your money on a G-Sync monitor (unless you're using it mainly for other games). Take a look here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7582/nvidia-gsync-review/2. About a third of the way down the page it talks about the stuttering you can expect.

Thanks you.

Anyone have experience with Gsync and P3D?

Just bought the AOC G2460PG. Seems that it is one of the best monitors in 24 with Gsync, if not the best.

Bump the post to say that after a month of use i can't fly smooth with Gsync envaled. Panning and movement at 144Hz and Gsync are better, faster and smoother, but i aleays have microstutters.

Don't kmow if Gsync is a good paur with P3D.

On the other side of the spectrum, I am blown away by how smooth and fluid P3d runs with Gsync. It's simply amazing.

You do not have stutters or micro stutters? What is your setup?

I have good hardware, and using PMDG 777, As A320 on As Airport got 50-60 Fps with some drops to 35-40 but i get stutters.

The only time I have issues is when I get FPS that drop into the 20's and the gsync no longer functions, then it's just like every other monitor.

I have a 6700K at 4.5ghz, and an Asus Strix GTX1070. So far Gsync is absolutely glorious!

I have the same hardware. 6700k 4,4Ghz and GTX1070. But i always see microstutters. Do you have any special setup in NI or NCP? 144hz?

My NI profile for P3d just includes 4x SGAA. Global system settings in the NCP of having Gsync enabled with Windowed and Full Screen mode and Adaptive power management .

Sure, my monitor is capable of 144hz but that's fairly irrelevant here as gsync syncs your monitor to the videocard to provide a dynamic refresh rate that works from 30-144 fps (there's really much more to it than that, but that's the simple idea of it). You can also still get stutters but that has nothing to do with the Gsync or the monitor.

If your sim isn't running smooth now at 1920x1080, imagine what quadrupling the resolution will do as there is that much greater load on your system.

The benefit of running 4K monitor is the 30Hz and Vsync with solid 30FPS. This will run smoother than any other setup...

Personally, I don't think it will be better than with Gsync. But to each his own.

I am testing Gsync another time...

Discover something...

I get smooth sim with Gsync, even with complex scenery/aircraft i get 60-80 FPS, but...some stutters.

I was monitoring my GPU with GPU-Z while flying and i see that the normal GPU load is about 60-70% but with some 99% peaks, and when this 99% peak occurs it causes a stutter. Why? I don't have the sim maxed out, mid settings.

Edit: reduced Refresh Rate to 85Hz but i also have stutters. Something make drop the FPS below 30 sometimes so the sim stutter. Only happens with Gsync. With Gsync off and limiting FPS with NI and P3D i can get 30 solid FPS. But it is annoying to can't enjoy the Gsync technology.
