Made the jump to P3D

Recommended Posts

for your info siMarket list The EMT tool as the number 6 alltime best selling add on for their company, the number 1 is PETE DOWSON - FSUIPC4, number 2 is FSUIPC3, number 3 is Active sky, so that terrible EMT is somehow managing to con an awful lot of simmers into purchasing it,despite being more trouble than its worth according to some of the self proclaimed experts amongst us

Peter

Just because an item sells a lot doesn't mean that it's good or a good idea to use it.

Every year people buy tons of cigarettes and soft drinks, neither of which are good for you to consume. Just because both items are great sellers and a lot of people consume them doesn't mean that they are good products.

Just like the EMT tool, it's a hot seller but a large portion of people who buy it probably don't have a good understanding of what it does to your system or how it really works, that's why Elaine said that unless you really know what it does, it's not a good idea to blindly use it.

Personally I have seen in both the PMDG and FSDT forums people posting issues about P3D and the EMT product had been found to be the item causing the issues with their system.

So, if you want to chug Cokes and puff cigarettes and install EMT because it's sold a lot of copies, more power to you, but at least you've heard the possible consequences from using those items.

Wow, mass response, thanks all! Im an ORBX, UK2K, Aerosoft, Carenado, A2A User. I think I'll just go down the route of a clean install of my addons into P3D..

I Currently run an SSD just for FSX (Heres my setup http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rVhqm8 ) Ive installed P3D on that same SSD along side FSX so ill justy start the mind numbing hours of installing lol!

I also run a network setup and I'm using EFB, AS2016, ASCA, VPILOT etc over a network through SimConnect and FSUIPC / WIDEFS... Will simconnect continue as is or do i need to reconfigure?

The simconnect module is unique for each version of either FSX or P3D, and the HiFi ActiveSky weather engine has it's own simconnect module... so no, you need to ensure you have the right modules.  However, they do work side by side, for example you will have both FSX and P3D modules installed if you have both platforms. They don't interfere with each other.
